Boeing Whistleblower Found Dead in Apparent Suicide

Prominent Boeing whistle-blower found dead in apparent suicide

A former Boeing employee who raised concerns about the company's production standards was found dead in Charleston, South Carolina over the weekend.

Joshua Dean, a former longtime Boeing employee, who had raised serious concerns about the company's production standards, was found dead in Charleston, South Carolina over the weekend. Dean, a quality manager, raised concerns about manufacturing practices at the company's 787 Dreamliner factory in South Carolina. His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.

Dean had previously raised concerns about the use of defective parts and emergency oxygen equipment failure on the Boeing 737 Max. The 737 Max was involved in two fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019, killing 346 people. The crashes led to the grounding of the 737 Max for over two years.

Dean's death is a reminder of the importance of whistleblowers in the aviation industry. Whistleblowers play a vital role in protecting the safety of the flying public. They deserve our support and protection.
